Philosophically, the T.W. Boswell barrels are modeled on hand selecting the best oak and
building it with an old world touch. We’re respecting the craft of coopering and our great-grandfather by transcending the handcraft through our generation. Each component is carefully chosen based on integrity and the number required for barrel assembly.
Unlike the Roman Gaul, barrels in the twenty-first century are appreciated for their beauty
as well as their flavors. The first barrel was probably a hollow tree trunk with drum-like
ends added. With the fortunate invent of specialized tools, today our T.W. Boswell barrels
are finished to the finest quality.
One aspect that enhances this barrel’s beauty is the steel. It’s old-style European steel and most definitely more durable than what was used in the Iron Age to replace the former pliable hazel hoops.
The experienced hand and eye undertake the important task of finishing the barrel and ensuring that it is faultlessly constructed. Every T.W. Boswell barrel is made with a watchful eye and a
passion to create a barrel that rivals any other. The result is a stylish barrel with superb workmanship
that’s built for showcasing at wineries. |
